Stem cells are continuously stimulated by the surrounding microenvironments including the chemical, physical and biological factors. When it comes to physical factors, micro and nano topography have been studied to regulate the behavior of stem cells. It was concluded that micro and nano topography have an ability to enhance or stimulate the proliferation and differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells. However, there is no study reporting that which shape and size of nanostructures has the most effective structure to regulate stem cells. In this study, we fabricated the three kind of nanopatterns (line, hex dot and square dot) with various sizes. Furthermore, we investigated the effect of those nanopatterns on cell adhesion, proliferation, viability, and morphology of human adipose-derived stem cells. |
