Recently, organic-inorganic hybrid systems have been widely studied to obtain synergistic effects on the physical properties. In this paper, the effects of two different phase(solid and liquid) Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes(POSS) nanoparticles on the rheological behavior of high molecular weight poly(ethylene terephthalate) (HMWPET : inherent viscosity of 1.04) were investigated in terms of nanoparticle contents (1wt%, 3wt%, 5wt%), shear rate(0.01 rad/s ~ 500 rad/s), and time(on the apparent shear and temperature). At the given apparent shear, the dynamic viscosity and storage modulus of PET/POSS composites were increased with increasing amount of POSS particles. And the Dynamic viscosity of PET contained solid phase POSS was higher than PET contained liquid phase POSS. Both two phase POSS played a role of nucleating agent for PET. |
