Synthesis and Characterization of PEOA/Organoclay Nanocomposites |
초록 |
Conducting polymer/clay nanocomposite system has been introduced to improve its potential applications or physical properties. Poly(o-ethoxyaniline) (PEOA) is a ring-substituted polyaniline derivative easily soluble in common solvents synthesized from a chemical oxidation polymerization. Using the organically modified montmorillonite (OMMT) clay, PEOA/OMMT nanocomposite was prepared from a solvent intercalation. The electrical conductivity of the PEOA/OMMT nanocomposite was found to depend on the intercalating process into clay with OMMT contents and different pH conditions of PEOA. The changes of electrical conductivity was attributed to the fact that intercalation into clay takes a role of resistance of the PEOA. The chemical structure of the synthesized PEOA/OMMT nanocomposite was characterized via an FT-IR and thermal property was examined by TGA. The intercalation of the clay galleries with PEOA was identified by an XRD and its morphology was also confirmed by both SEM and TEM. |
