제목 Toughening Linear-polydicyclopentadiene(l-PDCPD) with dimethylsiloxane(DMSO)
초록 Linear Poly dicyclopentadiene (l-PDCPD) was synthesized by ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP). Cyclic olefin polymerization was carried out under inert gas such as nitrogen or argon gas, due to deactivation of catalyst by react with oxygon. l-PDCPD has good properties of oxygon stability as well as be able to compound with additives in extruder. However their mechanical properties of l-PDCPD has a little of brittleness because of lower molecular weight. In our study we investigate relationship between the molecular weight of l-PDCPD and mechanical properties such as flexural strength (FS), tensile strength (TS), Izod impact etc. Dimethylpolysiloxane (DMSO) was used to enhance their mechanical properties as toughening agent. We observed that l-PDCPD with DMSO has a good thermal stability and mechanical properties compared to l-PDCPD.
