제목 | A study on the formation mechanism of oyster shell, Crassostrea gigas |
초록 | Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Energy Dispersive Spectrometer(EDS) and X-ray diffraction patterns were used to analyze the organic matrix composition and mineral structure of the shell. The mineral crystallized as aragoniteand calcite is calcium carbonate and it is highly crystallized. The FT-IR spectra showed amide, amine, and carboxylic acid groups in the organic matrix of the whole (organic and mineral) layer, with the HCO3- groups possibly at the organic-mineral interface. From the EDS and X ray diffraction results, it was elucidated the structural correlation between mineral and organic matrix, actual functions, and crystalline reflection of macromolecules in organic matrix. Above information could provide a useful approach and a new insight for the in vivo use of this natural biomaterial as an implant. |
