제목 A Simple Molecular Simulation on the Exfoliation of Clay-Polymer Nanocomposite by Strong Electric Field
초록 It was reported that PP/Clay mixture becomes fully exfoliated nanocomposite when strong electric field is applied. However, the experimental data did not explain why electric field results in the exfoliation. We develop a simple molecular model that includes forces binding the silicate layers and the effect of external electric field. Our simulation is a molecular dynamics which is based on the model. The layered silicates become unstable when configuration of cations in the clay are chaned by strong electric field. Our simulation is expected to explain which pair of polymer and organic modifier gives exfoliated nanocomposite.
