제목 Biomolecular Recognition Using Gradient PE Surface
초록 We prepared a wettability gradient on PE surfaces using a corona discharge treatment from a knife - type electrode whose power increases gradient along the sample length. The water contact angle of PE surface gradually decreased along the sample length with increasing corona power from 98 - 99° to 45 - 50°. Chemical reaction on the gradient PE film was carried out with EDC (N-ehtyl-N‘-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide) and NHS (N-hydroxysuccinimide) solution, followed by the reaction with various amine compounds. This reaction produced a continuous change of amine group density on the polymer surfaces in the electron spectoscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA). Biotin was introduced on the PE film reacted with various amine compounds to recognize the avidin-FITC as model biomolecular compounds. In conculsion, we prepared the gradient PE surface able to recognize biomolecular group.
