Syntheses, Characterization and Biostability of Novel Polyisobutylene Based Thermoplastic Polyurethanes |
초록 |
Segmented thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers are one of the most important biomaterials, commonly used in the production of blood contacting biomedical devices, pacemaker and defibrillator leads, catheters, angioplasty balloons, surgical drains, dialysis devices, etc.. Polyurethanes offer a broad range of physical properties and characteristics, including high tensile and tear strength, chemical and abrasion resistance, good processibility, and protective barrier properties. However, the polyether soft segment of these polymers is highly susceptible to oxidative degradation. Polyisobutylene (PIB) is well known for its superior biostability and biocompatibility. This presentation will explore the synthesis, processing and mechanical properties and biostability of PIB based polyurethanes. |
