제목 Effects of Compatibilizers on the Mechanical and Morphological Properties of Polypropylene/Polylactic acid Blends
초록 The influences of maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (PP-g-MAH) and ethylene-glycidyl methacrylate (EGMA) as a compatibilizer on the polypropylene(PP) and polylactic acid(PLA) were studied. Blends of PP/PLA (80/20 wt%) with compatibilizer were prepared by a twin-screw extruder. From the results of impact and tensile strength of the PP/PLA (80/20 wt%) with PP-g-MAH and EGMA, it was observed that 80/20 wt% composition of PP/PLA blend has a maximum strength at a PP-g-MAH content 4phr. The increased mechanical strength on the blends with the PP-g-MAH addition were attributed to the compatibilizing effect such as block or graft copolymers that can link the matrix with the dispersed phase via covalent bonds formed in situ during melt blending process of the PP and PLA blends
