It is of considerable practical importance to studythe influence of water vapor in the feed stream of a mixed gas membraneseparation system. Water vapor like other acid gases may plasticize themembrane, and it can form clusters as it permeates. Nanocellulose is thepredominant material under plasticization conditions including water vapor.However, the sensitivity of these membranes to water vapor is not wellunderstood. Here, we attempt to correlate water vapor permeation properties andthe ratio between hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of modified nanocellulose. Todo so, we have tried to control the amphipathic ratio of the modifiednanocellulose by switching chemical modifiers and changing modifier concentrations.The detailed will be discussed in the poster. |
