Mie resonance method: A new measurement strategy for dielectric constant at ultra high temperature |
초록 |
This describes a new approach, based on the Mie resonance method, to measure dielectric properties of loss-less materials as temperature increases above 1500 ℃. For reliable operation of microwave transmitting materials in harsh environments, it is very important to correctly characterize the permittivity under various temperature conditions. New heating and measurement systems using a single horn antenna and propane torch have been designed to estimate the dielectric properties of loss-less materials at high temperature. The reflection spectrum of Al2O3 ceramics at room temperature has been achieved using Mie resonance to derive the permittivity. Dielectric constants at high temperature are derived from simulated values, and these values have been shown to reliable, with only slight slope with increasing temperature. These results indicate that this permittivity measurement technique, as a novel approach, can provide powerful information for optimum design and to accurately evaluate the dielectric properties of various loss-less materials at high temperature. |
