Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have been developed rapidly by many research groups because of their various advantages, such as high efficiency and low-cost devices for solar cells. We designed and synthesized phenothiazine-based novel organic dye for dye-sensitized solar cells. New organic sensitizers are composed of phenothiazine(PTZ) moiety as an electron donor, phenoxazine as an additional donor and bridge unit, and cyanoacetic acid group as an electron acceptor. In addition, N-hexyl unit was introduced for increasing a solubility and a donating power. The structures, optical properties of compound was investigated, and the performances of the DSSCs using the dye are evaluated. |
