N-type BiVO4 has recently spotlighted as a promising photoanode for use in water splitting photoelectrochemical cells due to it has a wide range absorption spectrum and conduction band position near hydrogen evolution potential. We demonstrated a high surface area nanoporous BiVO4 electrode by electrochemical deposition method. To find optimum deposition potential of BiVO4, some potentials were applied from 1.0V to 2.0V. FE-SEM, HR-XRD, and photocurrent were examined to evaluate nanoporous morphology and performance of BiVO4 electrode. The resulting BiVO4 photoanode achieves a photocurrent density of approximately 1.7mA/cm2 at a potential as low as 0.6 V vs. RHE. |
