Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is a well-known biocompatible polymer. However, because of short disintegration period, problems are on the way and research is underway. To solve this problem, the hydrophobic polymer, PLLA, is modified into a hydrophilic surface to prolong the decomposition period and enhance the biocompatibility by the cross-linking reaction with the geninin. In addition, the addition of chitosan will help the osteoblast proliferation involved in bone regeneration and accelerate the differentiation process. The chemical structure of the polymer membrane is confirmed by FT-IR analysis and the surface morphology of the polymer membrane is observed through SEM image. The biodegradability of biodegradable polymers will be assessed and the effect of polymer membranes will be evaluated through cell and animal experiments. |
