Bioabsorbable stent with core-shell nanoparticles for improving x-ray absorption and inflammation inhibition |
초록 |
Recently, a new-generation stent made of a biodegradable polymer has been actively researched and developed. The biodegradable polymers such as poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is completely decomposed in the body within a few years. Bioabsorbable stents have been developed using biodegradable polymers that completely disappear in the body to overcome the disadvantages of metal-based stents which induce late thrombosis and restenosis. However, since polymeric materials composed of atoms with low atomic numbers do not absorb X-rays as much as sufficient for X-ray imaging, biodegradable polymer stents cannot be imaged in X-ray based imaging devices. In this study, we developed a radiopaque bioabsorbable stent with anti-inflammatory effect by using core-shell nanoparticles. To synthesize the radio-opaque nanoparticle, gold nanoparticles were encapsulated with magnesium oxide to add the ability to neutralize the acidic environment induced by the degradation products of biodegradable polymers. |
