제목 Reduction of Silver Nitrate in Ethanol by Poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone)
초록 Nanoparticles of silver have been prepared by reduction of its salt by poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP). In particular, silver nanoparticles was prepared by reduction of silver nitrate in ethanol in the presence of chemical reduction and PVP as a protective agent. The UV-visible spectrum of the material shows a strong plasmon resonance band centered at 410 nm. The band position depend on PVP/silver nitrate ratios and silver salt concentration and temperature. The optical properties of silver colloids were influenced by the protective agent was absorbed to the particle surface. The reduction rate remarkably depend in a first order on PVP: AgNO3 weight ratios and silver nitrate concentration.
