제목 Rational Design of Nano-Thin and Porous Membranes for Stem Cell-Derived Cardiac Sheets through Co-Culture and Transfer-Printing
초록 For the best performance of membrane-based co-culture of stem cells to promote the differentiation of the stem cells into a desired cell type, we developed nano-thin and highly porous (NTHP) membranes that allow effective interactions between co-cultured cells. The ultra-thin and nanoporous structure of the NHTP membranes was realized by the vapor-induced phase separation (VIPS) mechanism during spin-coating process. By using this simple processing method, the pore-size of the NTHP membranes can be finely tuned by varying processing parameters. Furthermore, we were able to conformally graft thermoresponsive polymer brushes onto the NTHP membrane via the initiated chemical vapor deposition (iCVD) process to prepare ECM-preserved, transfer-printable cardiac sheets after co-culture. The membranes developed in the present study are expected to facilitate the effective co-culture for differentiating stem cells and producing various types of cell sheets applicable in regenerative medicine.
