In recent studies, many microfluidic devices have been conducted in chemical and biological sensing applications. In order to sensing the target without noise, removing any other obstacles form the sample mixture. Here we present a membrane-embedded microfluidic system, which has chemical functionality as well as physical strength that help delivering materials throughout microfluidic system effectively performing selective reaction and detection with the sample solution. The membrane is polymer-based nano-scaled 3D inter-connected porous gels. We utilized layer-by-layer deposition of polyelectrolytes including natural polymers for the further surface functionalization of the porous membrane. Cell adhesion and proliferation study, in addition to the filtration experiment, on nano-porous membrane was conducted to check the cyto-toxicity of the membrane. This microfluidic system may have a great potential in biochip application. |
