Water-free Polymer Electrolyte Membranes Based on Oligomeric Triazole Compounds and Poly(phosphonic acid)s for Fuel Cells |

Recently, anhydrous polymer electrolytes are attracting considerable attention for their potential applications of the fuel cell operation at higher temperatures (100~200 ℃). Poly(phosphonic acid)s have high proton conductivity under anhydrous conditions and, in particular, the proton conductivity could be increased further for the composite materials with heterocycles such as imidazole, triazole, pyrazole. Styrene- based polymers, poly((4-vinylbenzyloxy)alkylphosphonic acid), which have phophonic acid group at the end of alkyl chain was synthesized, together with new oligomeric materials comprising siloxane backbone with triazole moieties. The blends of oligomeric triazole and poly(phosphonic acid)s were prepared and characterized in regards to the proton conductivity and thermal stability. |
