Preparation of the high reflective silver/PET film and their properties |

Silver/PET film is used as high illumination reflector for LCD and reflector for fluorescent lamp, etc. Silver/PET films were prepared through roll to roll coating techniques using silver 2-ethylhexyl carbamate(Ag-EHCB) on PET film. The detailed microstructure change of the silver/PET was examined heating at various time at 130oC by SEM. The micrograph indicates that the average grain size is about 18 nm and layered structures are made up of silver nanoparticles that are connected together. The morphological changes of silver surface were further investigated after oxidation of silver surface on air and accelerated oxidation testing using hydrogen peroxide. 2-Ehtylhexylammonium 2-ethylhexyl carbamate (EHAEHC) is capable of reducing siilver oxide to silver metal at 130oC. The structural and morphological changes silver/PET films after restoration of silver from silver oxide using EHAEHC were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray photoelectron Spectroscopy(XPS). |
