The control of cell adhesion by thermally- responsive polypeptides |
초록 |
Elastin-like polypeptide (ELP) are thermally responsive artificial biopolymer. They have reversible inverse phase transition temperature (Tt). They are soluble in water below Tt (hydrophilic state) but aggregated when the temperature is raised above Tt (hydrophobic state). Because of this property, they have been studied for stimuli-responsive material. Especially due to their biocompatibility, it has been applied to cell culture in tissue engineering. In this presentation, the property of stimuli-responsive bioactive ELP synthesized by recombinant DNA technique is characterized using UV spectrometer. The adhesion behavior of 3T3 fibroblast which is cultured on ELP coated plate was investigated according to the change of temperature. We will also discuss the relation between the temperature-induced hydrophilic/hydrophobic property alteration and cell adhesion/detachment behavior. |
