Aluminosilicate zeolite has been synthesized hydrothermally with the variation of moiety of structure directing agent (SDA) such as piperidine (PI), 2-methylpiperidine (MPI), 2,6-dimetylpiperidine (DMPI) and 2,2’6,6’ tetramethylpiperidine (TMPI)Temperature for hydrothermal synthesis was in the range of 413 453 K.Only PI led to the formation of zeolite but it was found to be mixture of zeolite FER and TON.High purity zeolites, FER, TON and MFI were obtained with the increase of hydrothermal synthesis temperature to 433 K for all SDAs except DMPI. Further increase of the temperature to 453 K resulted in the formation of TON when DMPI was employed as SDA. The Rietveld refinement of XRD suggested the intimate interaction between zeolite and SDA. |
