Pt based alloy cathode electrocatalysts were synthesized using convetional reduction method. The distintive feature was examined by XRD, TEM, several electrochemical analysis and unit cell test. The kinetics of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) were investigated using rotating disk electrode(RDE). In the sulfuric acid containing methanol electrolyte, PtPd electrocatalyst showed excellent catalytic activity for ORR compared to Pt electrocatalyst. It is confirmed that better ORR of PtPd is attributed to selective oxygen reductive activity of PtPd in the presence of methanol. |
