The oxygen reduction reaction on the N-doped mesoporous carbon for PEMFC |

Carbon supported platinum (Pt/C) is widely used in cathode catalysts for ORR. But Pt is a precious metal of low abundance, and it is thus of great interest to develop Pt-free cathode catalyst for PEMFC. Therefore more searches trend for non Pt catalyst for PEMFC and we prepared N-doped mesoporous carbon support for PEMFC cathode side. N-doped mesoporous carbon was synthesized by pyrolysis which is a thermochemical decomposition under nitrogen and 9000C by polyacrylonitrile as a carbon and nitrogen precursor. To the investigate the catalytic activity the oxygen reduction reaction test was performed by produced carbon using rotating disk electrode at 0.5M H2SO4 solution in room temperature. We impregnated iron on the carbon prepared the nonprecious metal catalyst for oxygen reduction. A H2/O2 single cell test was carried by in the below conditions temp. at 750C, and humidity at 75. |
