제목 Synthesis and Properties of Novel Polyester for Nonlinear Optical Applications
초록 In this work we prepared novel polyester containing 1-(2,3-dioxyethoxy)phenyl)-2-{5-(2,2,3-tricyanovinyl)-2-thiophenyl)}ethenyl groups as nonlinear optical (NLO)-chromophores, which constituted parts of the polymer backbones. We selected the latter because they have a large dipole moment. Furthermore they constitute a novel Y-type NLO polyester, and this Y-type NLO polyester has not yet been presented in the literature. This mid-type NLO polyester is expected to have both the merits of main-chain and side chain-NLO polymers namely stable dipole alignment and good solubility. The resulting polyester was soluble in common organic solvents such as acetone and N,N-dimethylformamide. It showed thermal stability up to 300 oC in thermogravimetric analysis with glass-transition temperature obtained from differential scanning calorimetry near OOO oC. We will present linear and nonlinear optical properties of the resulting polymer.
