In present investigation, rutile TiO2 nanofibers were deposited on FTO substrates by single step hydrothermal route. Simple and cost effective successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) was adopted for the synthesis of CdS quantum dots (QDs) sensitization onto TiO2 nanofibers The synthesized TiO2/CdS core shell architecture were characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), High resolution scanning electron microscopy (HRTEM), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), Raman Spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) etc. characterization techniques. These photoelectrodes were further used for their quantum dot sensitization (QDSSC) performance. The sample deposited after 45 SILAR cycle exhibits a photovoltaic performance with VOC=0.415V and JSC= 5.63 mA/cm2. The total power conversion efficiency of QDSSCs is 1.56 % has been achieved. |
