A multi-level biomemory device using a hetero protein film consisting of two metallo-proteins, recombinant azurin and cytochrome c, was developed for process and storage of variety information. The variety of information was input in and output from the biomemory device consisting of 2 protein layers incorporating recombinant azurin with cytochrome c. The recombinant azurin was directly immobilized onto Au substrate prior that cytochrome c was adsorbed onto the recombinant azurin layer by electrostatic attraction. The fabricated hetero-layer was confirmed by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and surface plasmon resornance (SPR). Cyclic voltammograms of the hetero-layers on Au surface showed two pair of reduction and oxidation peaks at each protein. And each protein’s open circuit potential (OCP) was experimentally determined. To verify the function of memory, using open circuit potential amperometry (OCPA) methods the memory function of the fabricated biodevice was validated. This proposed biodevice imply realization of biomemory device as one of the alternatives of silicon based memory device. |
