Synthesis, detailed characterization and biological analysis of Hydroxyapatite Nanorods prepared by Solvothermal Method |

Hydroxyapatite (HA) nanostructures are an advanced material in biomedicalapplications for an apatite substitute of bone and teeth than other form of HA. In contrast,well-defined size and shape control in synthesizing HA nanostructures is always difficult.In the present study, solvothermal synthesis method was implemented to prepare highly ordered hydroxyapatite nanostructures.Ethylene glycol (EG) and water were used as a mixed solvent where the concentration of EG was changed to study the solvent effect in the morphology, crystallinity and biological property. The morphological analysis by FESEM confirms that the preparation conditions greatly influencesthe morphological property. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) measurements indicate the formationof crystalline hexagonal hydroxyapatite. The crystallinity of HA decreased with increasing ethylineglycol.Cell culture analysis was carried out to understand the biological reliability of the prepared nanoparticle. |
