Carbazole functionalized polymers have been interested due to their fluorescence properties and potential applications as light-emitting diodes(LEDs). Here, we introduce new 2D metal coordination polymer bearing carbazole,[Zn(CZ3)(DMF)]. The solvothermal reaction with with zinc salts and 2,5-disubstituted terephthalic acid bearing carbazole groups gives needle shaped crystal, whose structure was characterized by x-ray diffractometer. The fundamental building units of the crystal structure for [Zn(CZ3)(DMF)] are di-zinc cores that are composed of two Zn centers bridged by two CZ3 ligands through their carboxylate groups. Each zinc atom is coordinated by two oxygen atoms from another CZ3 ligand in a mono-dentate fashion at the equatorial position and the other oxygen atom from dimethylformamide (DMF) at the axial position, to complete a slightly distorted tetrahedral coordination environment. Interestingly, coordinated DMF was replaced by diethylformamide (DEF). |
