제목 Tuning of the Property of Copoly(ether ester) Elastomers Using Modified Vegetable Oils as Chain Extender
초록 Natural vegetable oils have been considered environmentally friendly and cost effective renewable raw materials that can replace fossil fuels. The soybean oil (SBO) is one of the major vegetable oil containing more than 99% of triglycerides. In this study, renewable source based Copoly(ether ester) elastomers (COPEs) have been prepared from N,N’-bis(2-hydroxy ethyl) soybean oil fatty amide (SOFA) prepared by reacting SBO with diethanolamine and characterized by 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopy. A series of COPEs have been synthesized by using SOFA and 1,4-butanediol as chain extender (CE), poly(tetramethylene ether glycol) as soft segment, and dimethyl-2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate as hard segment. The relative CE composition of 1,4-butanediol/SOFA systematically changes from molar ratio of 99/1 to 80/20 to investigate the effect of SOFA addition on physical properties of resultant elastomers.
