Recycling of polymers and critical metals from WEEE using the solvent based CreaSolv® Process |
초록 |
In order to reach the goal of a worldwide circular economy, novel ways of recycling the current and future waste streams of WEEE are needed. Although current treatment routes can recycle high amounts of the metals contained in WEEE, other fractions like plastics, glass and rare earth metals are currently not recycled. The well-developed CreaSolv® Process is capable of recycling thermoplastics by the use of environmental friendly solvents. Dissolving the plastic leads to a disintegration of the devices into their individual parts and the liberation of inorganic plastic additives like Sb2O3 and TiO2. The individual parts can then be easily sorted into fractions corresponding to the containing rare earth metals, while small metal particles as well as polymer additives can be retrieved from the polymer suspension. |
