TiO2 has attracted great attention of scientists for years because of its interesting physical and chemical properties. It has been applied to many fields, such as dye-sensitized solar cells, water splitting into H2 devices, photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants, and antibacterial coatings. SiO2, as a kind of good carrier, has been widely used in the material synthesis field. In recent years, titania-silica composite materials have been widely investigated, and in most cases these catalysts show a higher phototocatalytic activity than the neat TiO2 prepared in parallel for the oxidation of organic pollutants in water. TiO2-coated SiO2 sphere with enhanced photocatalytic activity under UV light was prepared using TiO2 coating agent. The preparation of TiO2-coated SiO2 spheres was carried out to investigate the results of various size TiO2-coated SiO2 spheres. The obtained TiO2-coated SiO2 spheres were characterized using XRD, SEM, and a probe reaction. |
