Recently, 1D inorganic nanomaterials are receiving wide attention owing to their unique properties in electronics, optics, and photonics. By manipulating the morphology, physical properties can be tailored to attain desired characteristic. According to the previous study, 1D nanomaterial exhibit high charge transport behavior owing to their vertical dimension. Also, it can be used as building block of nanodevice due to their high mechanical strength with overlapping of material. In this study, 1D SiO2/TiO2 hollow rod (HST rod) particles are successfully synthesized via sol-gel and etching method. In addition, we have designed an experiment to introduce a hollow space inside of the HST rod. The resulting HST rod exhibits various advantages like hollow space, 1D orientation, high surface area, high pore volume, and large dielectric constant. Finally, we have investigated the ER activity to elucidate the unique properties of material. |
