We reviewed the technologies of graphene production in large scale and its numerous potential applications in this lecture. Recently Graphene has been studied widely by scientists and engineers in the world.The Nobel Prize in Physics for 2010 was awarded to Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov(Manchester Univ. UK) for groundbreaking experiments regarding the two-dimensional material graphene. Basically the structure is one-atom-thick planar sheets of sp2-bonded carbon atoms with interplanar spacing of 0.335 nm.. Many methods including CVD synthesis and chemical exfoliation has been tried to synthesis the graphene in large scale for various commercial applications like semiconductor, optically transparent substrate, energy, composites, etc. |
