Power to gas has recently attracted much attention as a technology that can stably store the surplus renewable electricity with hydrogen and methane, which are gases for a long time. In particular, hydrogenotrophic methanogens, which convert hydrogen and carbon dioxide into methane are a very important microorganisms used in biological P2G processes. In this study, four hydrogenotrophic methanogens, Methanothermobacter sp. A, B, C, and D were cultured to investigate the effects of these trace media on methane production performance. By adding about 1 g / L of yeast extract containing various trace metals and vitamins to the medium, the change of methane production performance of each methanogen was observed. Most hydrogenotrophic methanogens, except Methanothermobacter sp. B showed constant growth of microorganisms and methane production regardless of the addition of yeast extract to the medium. |
