Isolation of chemical constituents and anticancer activity from Acer ukurunduense |

Acer ukurunduense Trautv. et Mey. (Aceraceae; "Bukekotnamu" in Korean) is a type of deciduous tree that grows in Korea. This study was carried out to investigate chemical constituents of the stem of A. ukurunduense and anticancer activity. Bio-active compounds were isolated from A. ukurunduense by various chromatographic methods. Their chemical structures were determined by various spectroscopic methods. Cytotoxic effects of compounds were measured by MTT assay. Apoptosis inductive effects were evaluated by Hoechst staining, DNA fragmentation and caspase activity. |
