Mesoporous ZnO nanofibers for efficient dye sensitized solar cells |

. Wurzite type zinc oxide (ZnO) mesoporous nanofibers for low-cost thin film solar cells were successfully synthesized by a simple electrospinning technique. The n-type semiconducting ZnO mesoporous nanofibers were obtained from Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and zinc nitrate precursor after annealing treatment at 520°C for 1 h. The ZnO nanofibers were characterized using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results showed that the synthesized ZnO mesoporous nanofibers had a single phase and good crystallinity. Further these nanofibers are used for N719 dye sensitized solar cells. Our results revealed that the sample shows excellent 6.04% conversion efficiency. |
