Due to its acid-neutralizing characteristics, magnesium hydroxide (MH), an alkalineceramic, has garnered interest as a potential additive. In this study, the surface of MH was modified with hydrophobicricinoleic acid (RA) and then efficiently encapsulated in PLGA microspheres. The generated RA-MH particles exhibited excellent dispersibility in organic solvents and acid-neutralizing characteristics. PLGA microspheres encapsulated in RA-MH were synthesized using the oil-in-water process. When compared to pristine MH particles, RA-MH particles loaded into PLGA microspheres more than fourfold. Additionally, the RA-MH-encapsulated PLGA microspheres neutralized more acid than control microspheres and demonstrated exceptional biocompatibility and anti-inflammatory efficacy in in vitro cell testing. |
