For several decades, radioisotope-labeled biomolecules have been extensively investigated for molecular imaging, therapeutic application, biodistribution study, and detection/characterization of specific biomarkers. Therefore a lot of advanced synthetic methods for preparation of radiolabeled-biomolecules have been reported. In this presentation, I would like to introduce recent results in my research group using bioorthogonal reactions (strain promoted [2+3] cycloaddition reaction and inverse electron demand Diels-Alder reaction) for development of efficient and site-specific radiolabeling methods. For each labeling technique, detailed radiochemical result and applications such as specific in vivo imaging using single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and biodistribution of biomolecule will be presented. |
