제목 Cloning and Expression of Phosphatase for Bioprecipitation of Uranium
초록 Environmental metal pollution is a serious problem, and treatment and recovery of desired metals from such wastes is a major challenge. Effective immobilization of radionuclides of metals is critical in order to prevent groundwater contamination. Bioremediation of the toxic metal wastes by microbes
offers a relatively inexpensive and eco-friendly alternative to commonly used physical and chemical methods. In particular, enzymatic bioprecipitation of heavy metals as metal phosphates is very attractive, since it can recover metals from very low concentrations not amenable to chemical techniques. Successful bioprecipitation such as uranium using phosphatase will be a strong solution.  In this study, we report cloning of the corresponding alkaline phosphatase gene, its overexpression in E. coli, and application in the bioprecipitation of uranium.
