In this work, the blend system based on diglycidylether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA)/poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) were prepared to investigate the effect of PET content on the thermal and rheological properties of the blend system. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was undertaken for thermal characterization of the blends. Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy was employed to examine the cure reaction between the DGEBA/PET and the DDM as a curing agent. Rheological properties of the blend system were investigated under isothermal condition using a rheometer. As a result, the decrease of chain scission was observed in NIR measurement as increase of PET content. The cross-linking activation energy (Ec) of the blend system were increased with increasing the PET content up to 10 phr, resulted from the phase separation between DGEBA and PET. |
