제목 Synthesis of Optically Pure α-Aryloxy Alcohols via Kinetic Resolution of Terminal Epoxides with Phenols Promoted by Heterometallic Salen Complexes
초록 Enantiopure α- aryloxy alcohols are key synthetic intermediates in a variety of pharmaceutically important compounds. The highly enantioselective kinetic resolution of racemic terminal epoxides with phenols and their derivatives catalyzed by heterometallic chiral (salen)Co-AlCl3 is proven very efficient method for the synthesis of optically pure α-aryloxy alcohols (up to >99% ee). The system is conveniently carried out at ambient temperature and provides one pot synthesis. The presence Lewis acid AlCl3 assisted the chiral Lewis acid Co and exhibit strong synergistic effect during catalytic process. A plausible mechanism is proposed that rationalizes the stereochemical outcome of the reaction.
