제목 Preparation and characterization of crosslinked hydrophilic polymers introduced on the surface of silicon hydrogel contact lens by radical polymerization
초록 Silicone hydrogel (SH) contact lenses have shown marked improvement over conventional hydrogel lenses by allowing extended periods of wear time without inducing corneal hypoxia. To further promote wearability, it is necessary to incorporate hydrophilic coating layer on the surface of SH contact lens. To this end, the surface of SH lenses was exposed to UV-O3 or O2 plasma to introduce hydroxyl group on the surface, and then silanized with a acrylsilane coupling agent. Finally, the acryl groups incorporated on the surface of SH lenses were radical-polymerized with hydrophilic monomers to form crosslinked hydrophilic polymers as surface coating layers of the lens.
