제목 Synthesis of waste coffee ground-based activated carbons using potassium oxalate for carbon dioxide capture
초록 In recent years, mankind energy demands were being met by burning oil, coal, and natural gas, which are considered the main sources of CO2 emissions, and accelerating the impact of global warming. Biomass-based activated carbons (ACs) are widely used as CO2 capturing materials. In this work, biomass-based activated carbons were prepared from coffee grounds via a solid-state K2C2O4 activation. The ACs were obtained as a function of activating reagent ratio to investigate CO2 adsorption performances (e.g., uptake and regeneration). From the results, we found the high value-added biomass-based activated carbons prepared from waste coffee grounds would be a potential of industrial applications for CO2 capture.
