Electrical properties of polymer composite thin film filled with Ag nanoparticles encapsulated into MWCNT |

The electrical properties of Ag nanoparticles encapsulated into the inside of multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) and polymer composite thin film have been investigated, where the MWCNTs are oxidized with respect to various oxidative conditions. The encapsulation of Ag nanoparticles into the MWCNTs can be achieved by thermal annealing at high temperature after the reduction reaction of mixture of pre-dispersed MWCNTs suspension and silver nitration solution. Polymer composite thin films are bar-coated on the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film. The electrical properties of MWCNTs/Ag nanoparticles/polymer thin film is compared with those of MWCNTs/polymer thin film. HRTEM and FESEM are used for observing the microstructure of MWCNTs/Ag hybrid and polymer thin film filled with the hybrid. It can be observed that Ag nanoparticles attached on the surface of MWCNTs encapsulate into the inside of the tubes by annealing. |
