Fabrication of High Thermally Conductive Superhydrophobic Surface |

High thermally conducting superhydrophobic surface is developed by spray-coating SiO2 nano-agglomerates on screen printed Ag surface. The dried composite was then sintered at 650oC for 30 min to obtain maximum density. The roughness of the surface and presence of air cavities responsible for the superhydrophobicity was analyzed by profilometry and SEM analysis respectively. The superhydrophobicity of the modified surface was verified by contact angle measurement. All the prepared samples demonstrate contact angle greater than 150 degree. The thermal conductivity of the samples was analyzed using laser flash technique and obtained an average value of 223 W/m.K. Since we have applied a scalable spray-coating technique, such superhydrophobic coatings can be extended to large area application were high thermal conductivity is a primary concern. |
