Effects of catalyst decoration on acetaldehyde adsorption behaviors of activated carbons |
초록 |
In this study, activated carbons (AC) were prepared for acetaldehyde removal ability using various catalysts and different decoration amounts. We employed a simple catalyst-decoration-method on the surface of AC, which consists of aerial spraying of catalyst precursors and following dry or heat treatment after drying for good dispersion of forming particles and catalyst particles. The morphology and elemental composition of AC was observed using the SEM and EDS, respectively. The structure characterization of AC was performed by means of XRD. The N2 adsorption isotherm characteristics at 77K were confirmed by BET, BJH, and NLDFT equations. The acetaldehyde adsorption capacities of the AC were measured by breakthrough experiments using a Q-mass. From the results, the catalysts are well dispersed and have an average particle size below 2 nm. It was also observed that acetaldehyde adsorption capacity was found to be depended on the functions of type and content of the catalyst. |
