Polymer-Based Semi-Crystalline Hole Transporting Material for Dopant-Free Perovskite Solar Cells |

For perovskite solar cells, hole transport materials (HTMs) have been employed to enhance power conversion efficiency (PCE) taking advantage of the improvement of charge extraction and mitigation of charge recombination. Currently, the development of HTMs has mainly focused on amorphous materials such as spiro-OMeTAD and PTAA while reaching high efficiency. However, they also have some disadvantages such as poor long-term stability due to contained dopants or additive and low charge carrier mobility because of the amorphous nature. In this work, for the HTM, we introduced semi-crystalline polymer, PPDT2FBT, accomplished high PCE over 9% in OPV. This polymer shows well-ordered face-on orientation facilitating hole transport and well-matched HOMO level facilitating hole injection from the perovskite. With this polymer as an HTM, we have demonstrated outstanding photovoltaic performance with PCE of ~17%. The device stability and photovoltaic characteristics will be presented in detail. |
