In nature, there are so amazing functional nanostructures on surface. The nanostructures on the natural surface exhibit the self-cleaning, anti-reflection, low friction, water harvesting, anti-biofouling, dry adhesion, drag reduction etc. In this talk, the nature-inspired functional surfaces are presented with nanofabrication method with their wettability and optical properties. The superhydrophobic and transparent glass surface is developed to get the self-cleaning effect and antireflection effect inspired from lotus leaf and moth eye. The superhydrophobic and superoleophobic metal surface is investigated to allow the water harvesting inspired form Namib desert beetle’s back. These nanostructured surfaces help us to achieve sustainable and energy-efficient technologies. |
