Preparation of blue pigment / PS particles for electrophoretic display |

The preparation of blue pigment/PS was performed via dispersion polymerization. Blue pigment particle were used for core particle and were coated with polystyrene. This particle has positive charge so it can be used for electrophoretic display as electronic particles. Transmission electron microscopy images showed organic coating on the surface of particles. Chemical structure of particles was characterized via an FT-IR spectroscopy verified the polymer coating. Surface charge transfer after the coating process was also analyzed by measuring zeta potential of the composite particles in Hydrocarbon oil. Electrophoretic response of the particles in the low dielectric suspending medium was analyzed using an electrophoresis light scattering measurement. Effect of charge control agent on the zeta potential of the suspended particles in low dielectric solution was further investigated. Finally, We took a test of cell test to see the movement of particles applying electric field. |
